The Quadion Corporation and Minnesota Rubber continue their support for ProWorks.

Since 1991, the Quadion Corporation has held it's annual Quadion Golf Open at the Litchfield Golf Club; this event is held on the third weekend of May, and every year ProWorks has received a contribution from the proceeds of this event.  ProWorks has received more than $55,000; these contributions have funded services, equipment and building & grounds repair; these improvements would have been difficult to accomplish without this generous assistance.

The Quadion Corporation and Minnesota Rubber have shown their continued commitment to improving the lives of persons with disabilities, and in recognition of this commitment the 1997 Danielson-Nelson Award was presented to Robert Carlson, Quadion Corporation’s owner and chairman of the board, and Ron Mattson, former Minnesota Rubber Litchfield Plant Manager; the values and practices shown by these companies are truly exemplary.

ProWorks recently added this 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan to its fleet; this purchase was made possible with a generous contribution from the Watkins Lions Club.

ProWorks is licensed by the MN Department of Human Services to provide day training & habilitation (DT&H) services to adults with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and mental illness.  ProWorks serves individuals who live within a 30 mile radius of Litchfield, and presently serves 65 individuals.  DT&H services include transportation to a from ProWorks’ program sites (in Litchfield and Dassel) and community work sites.  ProWorks owns and operates six vehicles to provide daily transport services; however, the number of vehicles owned by the Center has decreased significantly in recent years; most of ProWorks transport needs are now provided under contract with Meeker County Public Transit (MCPT).  ProWorks and MCPT traveled approximately 241,350 miles in 2006 to provide DT&H services to area residents.

ProWorks Receives Funds To Purchase Document Scanners...

ProWorks recently received $700 from the Pamida Foundation to purchase two Xerox flatbed scanners and PDF software.

ProWorks provides work opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and mental illness - we are presently developing a document imaging component to our work program. This service will be offered, to area businesses, as a means to eliminate or reduce their cumbersome paper files; we will have the ability to scan, into PDF format, their invoices, letters of correspondence, personnel information, etc., and then save and organize this information onto CD disks.

ProWorks has shred paper documents for many years; we have shred documents for Meeker County Departments and Offices of the Attorney, Auditor, Public Health, Social Services and Child Welfare, as well as private businesses and individuals, the document scanning and destruction will fit well to meet the needs of area businesses and the work needs of the people served by ProWorks.

The community of Litchfield is not served by United Way, and does not conduct a “community” fund drive, and the Pamida Foundation attempts to meet some of the unmet needs faced by area non-profit agencies.

A foundation's resources are often tapped by large, non-profit corporations which serve large geographic areas, and not to diminish their work in any way - it is certainly appreciated that the Pamida Foundation will notice an agency of ProWorks' size.  ProWorks presently serves 80 people, and serves people living within a 30 mile radius of Litchfield.  The Pamida Foundation improves the lives of people living with limitations, by supporting programs like ProWorks.

ProWorks receives contributions from the MN Knights of Columbus "Tootsie Roll Program."   The Litchfield Knights of Columbus received $1563.83 from the annual Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive for 2007; contributions were presented to:  ARC Meeker/Central MN Region, Friendship Ventures, Meeker County Community Homes, Inc., ProWorks, Inc. and State Council Fall Classic for Special Olympics.  ProWorks' Knights of Columbus contribution funds services or activities that would not otherwise be available; we use these funds to provide outings - a number of people recently visited the Amaze'n Farmyard in Eden Valley; this outing provided a nice break from the typical "work" day.
